Vrlyfry-Day: Week 8

Day 46: 2/16

I love Zilla's hair in the morning.  I know he needs a haircut, but I love it.

 Day 47: 2/17

 Zilla dressed himself in Mommy's sports bra and he was so proud. He ran into the kitchen shouting, "Zilla did it!"

Day 48: 2/18

 It's Ash Wednesday! Daddy went to Mass in the morning and Zilla and I went with Roodle and her family that eveining  #ashtag

Day 49: 2/19

Y'ALL He's two years old today!  We woke him up with a crib full of balloons (yes I know we need to transition him to a real bed eventually) and a special airplane balloon.  He was thrilled!

Day 50: 2/20

 We made a quick stop at the store and when we got back to the car, I started to take him out of the sling to put him in his seat.  He wrapped his arms around my neck and laid his head on my shoulder and then said "sing momma."  And so of course I did.  After I wiped away the mommy tears.

Day 51: 2/21

 We had Zilla's bday party today!  This is the cake I made him. Thank goodness for Pinterest.

Day 52: 2/22

Zilla and Roodle provided some musical entertainment during Sunday Night Dinner.



Vrlyfry-Day Week 7

Day 40: 2/9

Dada has school on Mondays, Momma worked late, so it was a Whataburger dinner kind of day for the Zilla.  He wasn't complaining.  I figure, it was working on bilateral hand coordination...or something.

Day 41: 2/10

 We made our happy little way back to Scottish Rite today!  I can't believe how far we have come in less than a year.  The doctors were so pleased with all of Zilla's progress.

Day 41: 2/11

 Zilla insisted on using this spoon to eat his yogurt.  You just have to pick your battles sometimes.

Day 42: 2/12 

 I had a girls' night with some coworkers.  I am so blessed to work with people who are also my friends!

Day 43: 2/13

 Mommy finally remembered that Zilla's highchair can detach and become a booster seat.  Big boy status! Also, the return of the ridiculous smile.

Day 44: 2/14

The sweetest Valentines who ever lived! We went big on Valentine's Day and ate at Pluckers.

 Day 45:2/15

These kids love playing with their uncles.  I'm glad I caught all four of them, even if Mini B is just a blur.

Day 33: 2/2



Zilla has been joining me at GND more, now that Hubskie has school on Monday's.  It worked out great this week, because he got to play with one of his favorite friends.

 
Day 34: 2/3

SATRS GAME!  And even more exciting, I got to see my sweet friend. We need to see each other more often.

 
Day 35: 2/4

The weather started to get a little better this week so we got to venture out on some walks.  LOOK AT THIS SMILE!

 

Day 36: 2/5

Zilla really really wanted to be held a lot tonight.  So I pulled out an old pouch sling I never really used because it was way too big.  But now that he's a toddler it works in a pinch.  I just love wearing him :) (please excuse the nasty mirror) 

 
Day 37: 2/6

Another nice day for a walk...So nice Zilla decided to try and take off his pants in the middle of the sidewalk.  So yeah, we're at that stage.

 
Day 38: 2/7

On Saturday morning I did 5K number 2 since having Zilla.  I used to do a lot of races and longer distance races before the little one, but have a hard time finding time to train these days (it would help if I was more of a morning person).  I did 2 "training" runs for this 5K and finished with the stats above.  I have to say I was really proud...I was by no means the fastest girl out there, but it's comforting to know I can still get a sub nine minute/mile 5K without really training.  One day I'll really get back into my groove.

My friends are getting married in May and we gave them a Game Night themed shower.  I love decorating for these and coming up with fun themes!  In another life I'm a party planner/Etsy invitation vendor/Doula/Lactation Consultant. 

 
Day 39: 2/8

My heart just smiles every time Zilla asks his aunt Berly to hold him.  I mean, it is just so sweet, and he loves her so much. 

Vrlyfry-Day: Week 5

Day 26: 1/26

Lots of the kiddos were at GND this week!  While it's always nice to have a mommy's night off, it's equally wonderful to see all of our kids play together.

 

 Day 27: 1/27

I had a rough Tuesday last week.  I spotted a Dove Chocolate and tore through the wrapper.  When I saw the message written on the inside I thought it was perfect.  Sorry I didn't read you before I tore you to pieces, Mr. Wrapper. 

 

Day 28: 1/28

 

 We drove up to Anna to visit Papa Joe on his birthday.  It was a tight squeeze in the back but so much fun to play with my Zilla and Reesearoo on our way there and back.

 

Day 29: 1/29

Zilla has been really into dressing himself lately.  This means he usually wears one of two shirts and he chose to wear penguin pants on Thursday.

 

 

Day 30: 1/31

 Y'all, when did CVS get carts with cars attached?  Because if I had known this was in there, I would have made this trip at a separate time.  Instead, I stood at the front of the store while Zilla messed around for 20 minutes.

And then we had minor fit when I finally told him it was really time to go.  Come on CVS...In and Out.  It was just going to be a quick in and out kind of trip.

 

Day 31: 1/31

 Zilla and Reese had their first swim lesson today!  They are just too cute; and they have such good daddies!

 

 Day 32: 2/1

Super Bowl fun!  Also, this is the face Zilla will make when I ask him to smile.  I mean this one or he'll yell at me to put down the camera. 

Vrlyfry-Day: Week 4

Day 19: 1/19

My sweet Godson was sick on Monday.  Luckily I had the day off for MLK day and got to snuggle up with him while his mom and dad worked.  He is they very sweetest.

 

Day 20: 1/20

Zilla spent the evening with grandpa and grandma and we got this text part way through the night.  He loves the bicycle

Anniversary dinner part 2 at Steve Fields!  Free cake!

Reesearoo and family had been out of town for part of the week so it was a sweet reunion on Friday!  Zilla asked to go see her at least 3 times while they were gone.

 

Day 24: 1/14

This kid LOVES the guitar momma and dada got him for his birthday.  We just couldn't wait to give it to him.  Also, we needed him to stop playing with dada's guitar.

 

Day 25: 1/25

Okay, three pics today and I might get on my happy soapbox for a minute.  We checked out a new park in Carrollton that was amazing!  It was built with kids of all abilities in mind (aka accessible!) and included multiple accessible swings, ramps along the play area, large open play structures, and an accessible merry go round. Not to mention sound and sensory components too.  I just cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see cities designing new parks with all kids in mind!  And not just because of what we have experienced with Zilla (he can access pretty much any park since his limitations are so minor), but because I want Zilla to grow up playing in parks where children who do and don't use wheelchairs or have other needs for accessibility can be playing right there next to him.  Because ultimately, they're all kids and the fewer barriers there are to participation the more everyone's differences can be celebrated and not isolated!  

 

Also, look at the size of those slides!  These were seriously fun!

Vrlyfry-Day: Week 3

Monday: 1/12

We went to the neighbors to watch the National Championship Game.  Uncle J Wag had just built this bed for Reesearoo.  She was so sweet with her babies.

 

Tuesday: 1/13

Only 13 days in and I forgot to take a picture.

 

 Wednesday: 1/14

Zilla loves playing the guitar.  The second Dada comes in from work, he goes to his room and starts trying to pick it up so they can play together.

 

Thursday: 1/15

Yup, this is a picture of our tub.  The important thing here is that for the past couple of months it has been gross and clogged because we thought we were going to have to pay $3000+ to get it fixed; per plumber #1.  But we finally got a second opinion and BOOM clog gone! I could have hugged the plumber.

 

Okay, to make up for the bathroom pic and also missing Tuesday, here's a second Thursday picture.  Sorry Aunt Berly and Uncle J Wag...the kids had some fun in y'alls room while you were gone.

Zilla got this mask from Grandpa's house.  He got a big kick out of putting it on and looking at himself in my phone.

 

Saturday: 1/17

Zilla wanted to be like dada and lounge with his feet up.  Almost, Zilla.

 This is a picture from the morning, but I would just like to note that Zilla had his best Mass ever today!  He was actually complimented on how well behaved he was.  Unheard of.  What a blessing.

 

Vrlyfry-day: Week 2

Day 5: 1/5

Hubskie and I started reading The Lord of the Rings today.  But if we are being honest, at this point I think hubskie is on page 85 and I'm trying to get through the prologue.

 Day 6: 1/6

Zilla and Mommy stopped by the neighbor's house to play with his cousin.  I absolutely love living so close. 

Day 7: 1/7

Happy Anniversary to Hubskie and I! We've been married for three years!  One of my favorite parts of our anniversary is that I've made it a tradition to put on my wedding dress.  If it was appropriate, I would wear this dress once a week; it's silly how much I enjoy putting it on.

Day 8: 1/8

It's a two picture kind of day! One of our new therapeutic activities is to play with different textures. Here Zilla is playing with kinetic sand.  It's one of his favorites...though not the cleanest activity.  The other one I just thought was so sweet because he's been taking out his angel wings lately and asking to fly around like an angel.  I love seeing his creative play!

 Day 9: 1/9

One of Zilla's favorite chores to help with is feeding Boots.  So much so that Boots may be getting an extra scoop at meals.

 Day 10: 1/10

Another twofer!  Hubskie and I had a Staycation and spent the evening in Fort Worth together.  Here's our view from our hotel room as well as our view from our seats at The Lonesome Dove.  YUM!

Day 11: 1/11

Sunday night dinner is always fun with these three kiddos!  It's great to see them play together.
